Past Events

Anita sang the National Anthem at Busch Stadium on Thursday, April 17th when the Cardinals played the Milwaukee Brewers! Anita was accompanied on saxophone by Mark Christopher, afternoon radio personality on KTRS Radio, the Big 550 am. Both Anita and Mark contributed music to Someone To Watch Over Me: The BackStoppers Project, and the appearance at the Cardinals game raised awareness for the benefit CD by providing info for fans about where to purchase it. Anita and Mark were also interviewed by Mike Shannon on the Cardinals broadcast on 550 that day. 100% of the CD sales go to BackStoppers! Click here to listen!

BACKSTOPPERS BENEFIT CD RELEASE PARTY AND CONCERT AT THE PAGEANT: SUNDAY, NOV. 4, 2007!!

A benefit concert for the Backstoppers was held at the Pageant on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007! The concert marked the official CD release party for the Backstoppers benefit CD!

Here are some details about the CD and the concert!
The CD is called Someone to Watch Over Me: The Backstoppers Project. It features music from great St. Louis musicians including: Denise Thimes, Ralph Butler, Jeanne Trevor, Peanuts Whalum, Jim Manley and Tom Kennedy... plus Anita! Thanks to the generosity of the St. Louis music community and some wonderful corporate sponsors, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the CD go to Backstoppers!
The CD became available for the first time on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the Backstoopers Benefit Concert at the Pageant! All proceeds from The Nov. 4 Pageant concert also benefited the Backstoppers. ANITA RECORDS SONG FOR COMPILATION CD TO BENEFIT BACKSTOPPERS

Thanks to an idea presented to Anita by Don Wolff, host of the popular "I Love Jazz" show on KMOX radio, the wheels are in motion to produce a benefit CD for the Backstoppers organization that will feature Anita and other St. Louis artists and personalities. Last October during an appearance on KMOX, Anita was asked by Don to think about recording the song "Someone To Watch Over me" -- which Don plays every week on his show in tribute to firefighters and police officers who have died in the line of duty -- and to the Backstoppers, the non-profit organization that supports the families of these fallen heroes.

Anita decided to record the song and use it as the starting point for a compilation CD featuring music by herself and other St. louis entertainers and personalities. Everyone will donate their services, and all proceeds from sales of the CD will go to Backstoppers.

Anita Makes Jazz at the Bistro Debut!

On January 12 and 13, I made my first appearance on stage at Jazz at the Bistro in Grand Center on Friday and Saturday, January 12 and 13. I was joined by the great Tom Kennedy trio - Tom on bass, Nathan Jatcko on piano and Miles Vandiver on drums. Despite the ice storms and the gloomy predictions of the weather forecasters, we had good crowds for all four sets at the Bistro. It was great fun. Thanks so much to everyone who braved the weather to come out and see me... and thanks also to the tom Kennedy Trio! I hope to be back at Jazz at the Bistro soon!!

2006 U.S. Bank Saint Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival Performance!

I had a great time performing at the U.S. Bank Saint Louis Jazz & Heritage Festival on June 23! The weather was beautiful and I had a chance to hear some great vocalists and musicians while I was at the Jazz Fest, like my friend Denise Thimes!

Thanks to Kevin Johnson of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Dean Minderman of the St. Louis Jazz Notes website for their very kind words about my performance!

"Pop-jazz vocalist Anita Rosamond was the highlight of the Soul School Stage, whether she was treating fans to an original such as "In Your Arms" or tackling covers such as "Midnight at the Oasis" and "Until You Come Back to Me," all from her Timeless CD."
Kevin Johnson, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, June 26, 2006

"While at the Soul School tent, I was able to catch the last part of singer Anita Rosamond's set. I like her voice, a full-bodied alto, and she's got an attractive stage presence and good taste in songs, which in this case ranged from standards like "I've Got The World On A String" to covers of Aretha Franklin, Motown and Maria Muldaur tunes. She also had some good musicians backing her up, including Greg Worzel on keyboard, Willem von Hambrecht on bass, Don Drewett on drums, Lew Winer III on saxophones and Anthony Wiggins on trumpet. ...Rosamond's clearly got talent."
Dean Minderman, Editor, St. Louis Jazz Notes

P.S.! Special thanks to Gene Dobbs Bradford, Executive Director of Jazz at the Bistro, for his special guest appearance on harmonica on "Route 66!"
